Our guild had a workshop in May to make blocks using the string piecing technique. You can see the string block tutorial here for the method we used.

The following four quilts are a result of that workshop.

All four quilts finish in the 54″ x 72″ range (even though they may not look like it in these photos).

The quilts will be presented to veterans at a local 4th of July celebration. You can see the other patriotic quilts in the group to be donated here or by clicking the “Donated Quilts” tab at the top of the page.

The workshop seemed to go over well with the guild membership so you can expect to see more string quilts for donation here in the future.
