From Plastic Bin to Treasure Chest

The Hidden Gems in our Guild’s Fabric Stash

Our Palm Beach County Quilter’s Guild eliminated its storage unit and associated costs last year. This bin had once been stored there. It held a lot of strips, some of which were used several months ago for a challenge activity.

The leftover strips were picked up yesterday in hopes they could be used to make donation quilts.

When the lid was removed, they seemed to have very little potential.

They began to look more cohesive as organizing progressed. Excitement grew as design possibilities emerged. Take a look…

The last photo features fabrics that are currently ungrouped but may be used later. The previous five groupings contain fabrics with a large number of strips that might be suitable for a Three Yard Quilt type pattern.

The guild’s Community Outreach team will have fun working together and sharing ideas for turning these fabrics into donation quilts.
